Verkode — Terms of service

Last updated: 5 September 2026

These terms cover the use of Verkode, an app for Wix Stores and Shopify that generates printable barcode labels. Installing the app means accepting them.

What you get

A licence to use the app on the sites or stores you own or administer, for as long as it is installed and any subscription is current. The app remains ours; the labels, codes and files it produces are yours.

Plans and payment

The app is offered on a free plan with a monthly label allowance and on paid plans without one. Payment, invoicing, renewal and cancellation are handled by the platform the app is installed from — Wix or Shopify — under that platform's terms. We never see or hold your payment details. Cancelling returns the app to the free plan at the end of the paid period.

Generated barcodes

When the app generates EAN-13 barcodes it uses, by default, the number range that GS1 reserves for internal use. Such codes are valid and scannable inside your own shop, and are deliberately outside the range of codes registered to any manufacturer. They are not suitable for goods sold through other retailers, which require a barcode issued from a GS1 company prefix licensed to you. If you own such a prefix you can enter it and the app will use it instead. Choosing which to use is your decision, and checking that the codes you print meet your trading partners' requirements is your responsibility.

What you must not do

Availability and warranty

The app is provided as it is. We work to keep it correct and available — the label geometry, the check digits and the currency formatting are verified before every release — but we do not warrant uninterrupted availability, and we do not control the platforms it runs on. Check a printed sample before committing a long print run: printers, drivers and media vary, and a wasted roll is the one cost we cannot verify from here.

Liability

To the extent the law allows, our liability for any claim connected with the app is limited to what you paid for it over the twelve months before the claim. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including wasted label stock, printing time or lost sales.

Ending it

You may uninstall at any time; that ends the licence and all access to your store. We may suspend an installation that breaches these terms, or withdraw the app from a platform, in which case any prepaid unused period is refunded.

Law

These terms are governed by Swiss law, and the courts of Switzerland have jurisdiction, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer protection you benefit from in your own country of residence.
